Volunteering
Volunteers play an essential role in the provision of social opportunities that blind and partially sighted people themselves have identified as being important to their quality of life.
We cannot put a value on this work, except to say that without our volunteers we could not offer the wide range of services that blind and partially sighted people enjoy in Liverpool, thus making our service one of the best in the UK!
There are plenty of volunteering opportunities and ways in which you could help us.
This can range from volunteer minibus drivers and minibus escorts who enable otherwise isolated people to attend our activity clubs, to home visitors-people of a more mature age are particular valued in this area. There are of course many other volunteering opportunities, for example we always need help with charity bag packs and charity store collections;
Can you give us just three hours of your time to help with a charity bag pack in a local supermarket?
We urgently require people to help out just occasionally with this very worthwhiile fundraiser, we currently have two booked 1 October 2008 the other in December 2008 if you can help please contact Kathy Foy on 0151 221 0888 ext. 230
If you would like to become involved in some voluntary work, even if you could only spare 1 hour per week we would love to hear from you. Please contact our Volunteer Co-ordinator on 0151 221 0888 ext. 230
