BME Services

Bradbury Fields recognises the need for people from Black and Asian communities to access a specialist service.  Bradbury Fields began this service in 1997, to encourage people from minority communities to take up the specialist services that Bradbury Fields can provide.  Following a 3 year research programme it became evident that a specialist worker would need to be recruited who could understand the religious and cultural diversities that exist in Liverpool to try and address these needs.

Bradbury Fields is able to provide a specialist worker Jamal Abdullah to those who require this specialist service.  Referrals should be made through Bradbury Fields' normal referral procedure, or for an informal discussion you can contact Jamal Abdullah on 0151 221 0888 ext.213

Services for deaf blind people

Bradbury Fields provides a specialist service for people who have dual sensory disability.  This service consists of specialist assessment, the provision of specialist equipment, where necessary and signposting onto other agencies for community support and communicator guide schemes.

We also provide the only social club for deaf blind people on Merseyside which meets every Monday at the Bradbury centre, this club offers the opportunity for social interaction, the gathering of specialist information and the provision of specialist equipment where necessary.  Just a chance to communicate with others is often the main reason why people come along to our specialist club.  Club members also go out to places of interest with specialist support from our volunteers.

For information about services for deaf blind people contact Carol Byrne on 0151 221 0888 ext. 212.  Or for club activities contact Louise Cannon on 0151 221 0888 ext. 220
